This special coffee comes from Uraga, a highly esteemed woreda in the East Guji Zone. Situated 2,000 meters above sea level on the southern slope of the Ethiopian mountain escarpment, about 450 kilometers from Addis Ababa, this region offers the perfect conditions for growing top-quality Arabica coffee. The unique environment here boasts a diverse range of flavors, heavily influenced by the area's rich biodiversity.
At Megerssa Drying Station, surrounded by picturesque Cordia and Acacia trees, dedicated smallholder coffee farmers carefully handpick Kumie, Diga, and Wisho heirloom varietals to ensure only the best cherries make it into each batch. With over 26 years of experience in coffee farming, station management, and export expertise, Mr. Megerssa takes immense pride in owning and overseeing this prestigious station. From cultivation to shipment, he guarantees a smooth process while maintaining the highest levels of traceability and quality control.
